Most of the parents prefer using disposable diapers for their infants. But gradually people are becoming aware of the disadvantageous side of using them and hence shifting towards the reusable ones.

The reusable diapers are now designed in more or less similar way so that they can be fitted like the disposable ones. You can get the flat cloth diapers or the prefolded cloth diapers for your baby. It is better to go for the mostly available “one size” cotton cloth diapers for infants and toddlers. This diaper size is suitable for babies of any age group. It is so designed that it can be adjusted for fitting it to a baby. For better fit, series of straps or Velcro is used. Fitted cotton diapers are available in the market, which is suited for newborns and toddlers. While buying cotton cloth diapers for your baby do not forget to get cloth diaper liners. As these liners will absorb most of the soiling, the diaper can be used for a longer time. Special cotton cloth diapers are also available for heavy wetters. Other special diapers are also available that can be used while imparting toilet training.

Using cloth diapers has a number of benefits. You baby will feel more comfortable in a cotton diaper than a synthetic one. Use of cotton diapers also reduces the chances of skin rashes. You can buy those baby diapers that are made from natural diapering products and in which no chemicals have been used.

You can go for reusable diapers as they are no longer designed in the old rectangular style that had to be fixed with pins. Gone are those days and now reusable diapers are available in different shapes suited for your baby. These diapers are to be fixed with Velcro or snap. It also keeps your baby’s skin dry. Use of reusable diapers also reflects your concern for the environment. Disposable diapers take a long time to decompose thus causing harm to the environment whereas reusable diapers are not required to be sent to landfill for decomposing.
